Ingredients and seasonings for a whole Dutch bread:

  1. 3 cups of flour
  2. 1 3/4 years of refined salt
  3. 1/2 ton/kg. dry yeast
  4. 1 1/2 cups warm water
  5. 1/4 year of sugar
  6. 2 TBSP. Sunflower seeds
  7. 3 TBSP. Any spices (see below)

Steps to Bake Bread in a Dutch Oven

  1. Before you begin, note...this recipe requires 18 hours of cook time for the dough, so make sure you start a day ahead. Trust me it's worth it.
  2. Start by activating the yeast. To do this, pour lukewarm water into a small bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top and add sugar. Mix a little and leave undisturbed for 15 minutes. When there are small bubbles on it, it activates and emits a "yeast" smell.
  3. Then mix the flour, salt, sunflower seeds and 2 tbsp. All the spices in a large bowl.
  4. I had a pre-made spice mix, but if you don't, this serving equals the 3 teaspoons you asked for. Note that you want to put 1 tbsp. decorate 1/2 ton/kg. Black sesame 1/2 tsp. White sesame 1 tablespoon. poppy seeds 1/2 tsp. cucumber seeds 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  5. Then add the yeast mixture and mix until a sticky dough forms.
  6. To prevent the dough from sticking, cover the top of the pan with a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Leave undisturbed in a warm, dry place for 18 hours.
  7. When the dough has finished cooking, preheat an empty oven with a lid to 450 degrees for 30 minutes.
  8. While the pan is preheating, roll out the dough on a floured surface until it forms a round ball. Place on lightly floured paper.
  9. After pre-rinsing, carefully remove the pan from the oven and set the lid aside. Carefully line the parchment paper with the pan. Using a knife, cut the X in two directions. Spray quickly with cooking spray and sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. remaining cc. Any seasoning above.
  10. Cover and cook at 450 degrees for 30 minutes.
  11. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 minutes to brown the top of the bread.
  12. Remove from pan and let cool completely on a wire rack.
  13. Enjoy!
